Dr. Chen saved my mouth.

Had a double abscess develop during the pandemic that killed two of my nerves. My original dentist forgot that I was even being scheduled and did not develop a treatment plan.

Went to see Dr. Chen, and she coordinated the work between herself and the orthodontist. Had to get a crown.

Dr. Chen is no-nonsense, straight-shooter that will tell you the implications of every choice that needs to be made.

I like that, because I'm not into cosmetic dentistry and I need the blunt truth.

She generally cares about her profession and her patients. Trust is everything and Dr. Chen is a gem.

Having recently moved to Chicago, I was in need of a dentist for my regular dental regimen. I wanted an experienced dentist near my home in Streeterville. In addition, Dr Chen's holistic approach to dentistry had me curious. As a new patient, Dr. Chen was able to schedule me for an initial consult and cleaning within a week. I was asked to complete an extensive online medical history survey prior to my visit. Dr Chen had taken the time to print out my survey prior to my visit and read it in detail; I saw she had marked up copy. I was impressed with her detailed questioning during the initial portion of my consult. Detailed photos were taken of my entire mouth which she shared with me ss we discussed my oral health and its connection to overall bodily health. She followed with a detailed set of X-rays; something I had not had done in years because of covid. There was a small issue with the root area of one tooth that would be monitored. Dr. Chen completed the session cleaning my teeth with hydrojet cleaning tool....faster and less painful than scraping. She took a photo of a section of teeth at the end and showed a photo of the area before the cleaning. I was pleased with the results. In conclusion here, I highly recommend Dr. Chen based on my experience.

What started as me just going in to see if it was an issue that my teeth were shifting, quickly turned into an entire healing journey due to Dr. Chen’s unique and highly specialized way of seeing the human body and it’s function in all three aspects of mind, body and spirit. She was able to lay out to me why I was operating and experiencing the world in the way I was within the first 5 minutes of looking me. Through working with Dr. Chen I have regained energy and a zest for life that had left me for a long time. This journey has uncovered parts of myself layer by layer helping me acknowledge and release trapped emotions and come to see patterns I have been long stuck in. I have became a lot more in touch with myself as I have returned into a state where I can comfortably be in my body as she has helped me physically, mentally and emotionally shift back into alignment. Emotions that I could not feel for so long have begun to be felt again, for Dr. Chen has helped me regained lost pieces of my soul. I highly recommend working with Dr. Chen if you feel called to do so. Be prepared to work with a very strong willed individual who will stand by her beliefs on how to help you heal with an unwavering perspective, as well as having your beliefs about yourself challenged and your self understanding forever altered. There is no else like her.

I was a first time patient today and I was very impressed with the care I received from Dr.Chen. She did such a great job explaining all the issues I had not only inside my mouth but on my head and body.
I've been going Holistic doctors for a while now and was just missing to find a dentist who didn't just see me a dollar sign.
Dr.Chen proved that to me. To really understand how your mouth can trigger other problems on your body and how to commence to feeling and looking better.

I do appreciate being taken care of and listened to. Will definitely be coming back to start my treatment.

Switching to Dr Chen is one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health.

I found Dr Chen when I was looking to make the switch to a biological dentist. Finding a biological dentist was important to me because your mouth is so intimate. Everything that enters your mouth is absorbed straight to your bloodstream (your life source). Natural approaches were very important to me. I also wanted someone who deeply understood the ripple effect - how what’s going on in your mouth is a reflection of the rest of your body and would be able to treat it as such.

Why did I stay with Dr Chen? All dentists can make you cosmetically look good - that’s easy. But Dr Chen goes deeper, taking into account the foundational structure of your mouth. She understands the physical AND emotional implications when it comes to jaw positioning.

I am a former USA and professional volleyball player and all my years of my body being in “flight or flight” caused extreme clenching with my jaw. On top of that, I had numerous sinus surgeries. Both of these had a dramatic affect on the symmetry of my eyes, nose, and lips. Dr Chen suggested a special TMJ approach and in 3 weeks time the symmetry in my nose and lips realigned!!! Incredible!!! That’s just the beginning. The results dug deeper than my looks - realigning my cranial sacral bones and spine and fixing my open-mouth breathing. This all in itself got blood circulation flowing and put my body in a position to heal itself. The results dug even deeper than physical - I was able to speak my truth and come into my power, shedding emotional baggage. Dr Chen was there to coach me through the experience!! It’s evident that she truly cares about my transformation and, most importantly, understands that I have the power in my hands to heal myself - not her. She simply gives me the very best “container” to do so 🙂 Thank you Dr Chen! You’re a godsend to Chicago!

I have been a patient of Dr. Gloria Chen for several years. Choosing her for my dental care is the best decision I could have made!

Her approach to dental care takes the "whole person" into consideration. Dr. Chen has always been straightforward and honest with me....and comes up with creative solutions to problems that arose when I didn't follow her instructions.

I appreciate her approach of saving natural teeth and preventing bone loss as much as possible and for presenting solutions that are affordable and still "look good"!

I wish I could rate Dr. Chen as 10 stars, because she has greatly improved my dental health & quality of life!

As a business owner, I hesitate to leave negative feedback, but I feel misled by this “holistic dentistry.” As another person stated here, she too spent a lot of the time trying to get me to commit to a $7,000 procedure that was not necessary nor suggested by any other dentist. During the testing of this procedure she became upset, impatient & lost her temper because the test (her experiment) didn’t work on me. She has no assistant or admin, and this too was a red flag for me.
